Before establishing herself as one of India’s most dynamic directors, Reema Kagti served as an assistant director for many leading talents, such as Farhan Akhtar (Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya), Ashutosh Gowariker (Lagaan), Honey Irani (Armaan), and Mira Nair (Vanity Fair).
Reema’s directorial debut was Honeymoon Travels Private Limited (2006). The ensemble film was a box office success, released to packed houses. Following the success of her debut film, Reema went on to direct her second film, Talaash (2012), which became a hit at the box office. The film featured Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in lead roles. Her next feature, Gold, with Akshay Kumar in the lead, crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark and was well received by audiences.
In addition to directing, Reema has made forays into writing. She has co-written the screenplays for box office successes, such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy. Reema’s recent foray into the digital space has led to creating the highly appreciated series, Made in Heaven, for Amazon Prime Video.
With her latest venture, Tiger Baby, Reema has extended her role to that of Producer – with a lot more exciting content in the works!
